State of Happiness (Lykkeland) vertelt het verhaal van vier jonge mensen en de ongekende kansen die ze krijgen bij de opkomst van de Noorse olie-industrie. Alles is in beweging, alles is nieuw en geweldig, maar tegelijkertijd onbekend en beangstigend. Hoe gaan zij daarmee om?
Het 3e seizoen van deze Noors-Belgische serie maakt een nieuwe sprong in de tijd, naar 1987. Terwijl de rest van de wereld in een recessie belandt, houdt olie de Noorse economie recht. Toch zorgt dit voor politieke en economische onrust. Is het land te afhankelijk geworden van de olie-industrie? En hoe gaan we om met die gigantische veranderingen voor mens en milieu?

State of Happiness (Lykkeland) tells the story of four young people and the unprecedented opportunities they face with the rise of the Norwegian oil industry. Everything is in flux, everything is new and wonderful, but at the same time unknown and frightening. How do they deal with it?
The 3rd season of this Norwegian-Belgian series takes another leap in time, to 1987. While the rest of the world falls into recession, oil keeps the Norwegian economy straight. Yet it is causing political and economic turmoil. Has the country become too dependent on the oil industry? And how do we deal with these massive changes for people and the environment?
